DEMO SHOWCASE

The demo showcases some of our core mechanics. You have just crashed into a hostile planet and must gather resources, craft weapons and machinery to survive. Your goal is to retrieve the ships black box which contains the data of the attack on your star ship, and return back to Earth Federation space and ward the Federation about the new threat. 

Your Gathering Gun can break down any resource for the 3D printer to create any part or equipment needed. 

Aggressive beasts roam the open land, be careful. But with the right help machinery you can clone them as your pets!

In LYA you are what you wear. You must gather resources and craft your gear, weapons and vehicles.

The journey home is a long arduous one, recruit teammates to help you run your starship and aid you in combat.

IN LIGHT YEARS AWAY, RESOURCE GATHERING IS STREAMLINED FOR AN EFFICIENT AND ENGAGING EXPERIENCE. INSTEAD OF TRADITIONAL TOOLS, YOU’LL USE A GATHERING GUN TO COLLECT RESOURCES. EACH TIER OF THE GATHERING GUN ALLOWS YOU TO GATHER SPECIFIC MATERIALS. FOR EXAMPLE, A TIER 1 GATHERING GUN LETS YOU COLLECT STONE, COPPER, SILVER, GOLD, AND CRYSTAL. THIS SYSTEM SIMPLIFIES THE PROCESS, FOCUSING ON EXPLORATION TO FIND MATERIALS RATHER THAN REPETITIVE TOOL-BASED GRINDING. USE THESE RESOURCES TO CRAFT AND 3D PRINT ESSENTIAL GEAR AND UPGRADES, ADVANCING YOUR JOURNEY THROUGH SPACE.

CRAFTING IN LIGHT YEARS AWAY

IN LIGHT YEARS AWAY, YOU CAN CRAFT VARIOUS ITEMS USING TWO DIFFERENT MACHINES:

  • 3D PRINTER: USED FOR CRAFTING ITEMS, VEHICLES, OUTFITS, AND WEAPONS. TO PRINT, YOU NEED BLUEPRINTS, WHICH CAN BE OBTAINED THROUGH QUESTS, STORES, OR DISCOVERY. SOME ITEMS REQUIRE PARTS, WHICH MUST ALSO BE PRINTED.

  • ORGANIC SEQUENCER: USED FOR CLONING CREATURES AS PETS. YOU NEED AN ORGANIC SEQUENCE AND THE NECESSARY ORGANIC MATERIALS. THESE SEQUENCES ARE ACQUIRED SIMILARLY TO BLUEPRINTS.

IN LIGHT YEARS AWAY, YOU CAN RECRUIT CREW MEMBERS TO BE YOUR ALLIES IN COMBAT BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY TO BE ABLE TO OPERATE BIGGER AND LARGER STAR SHIPS. 

YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM YOUR CREW ANY MATE FOR AWAY MISSIONS, EACH CREW MEMBER WILL HAVE A CLASS WHICH WILL GIVE THEM SOME ABILITY THAT MIGHT HELP YOU IN THE MISSIONS. 

EXPLORE THE GALAXY AND COLLECT ALL CREW CHARACTERS FROM ALL SORTS OF PLACES AND BACKGROUNDS.
